Built-in 1903, the Hellman-Erhman Mansion historic attraction was used as a summer house by the family and their friends who enjoyed fishing and swimming. The house is situated on 2000 acres of Lake Tahoe property that was acquired in 1965 by the California State Park Organization and is available for tours from the month of May to September. The thirty-minute tours include the dressing room, butler’s quarter, maids quarters, the children's house, two boathouses, a caretakers cottage, a pump house, the boatman’s cabin and a look at two boats named Comet and Cherokee.
