There’s a chill in the air, the leaves are turning; the pumpkins are plump, just waiting to be carved into Jack O’Lanterns. If you’re in Pennsylvania, here are some of the best places for family-friendly pumpkin patch fun.

Winding Brook Farm

This family-owned dairy farm transforms during the fall months into a pumpkin patch delight. For the adults, there’s a Night Chills Haunted Hayride, the Corn Walk of Horror, and the Haunted Hay Maze. For the kids, there’s a petting zoo, magic shows, and fun in the pumpkin patch. For the whole family, there’s the backdrop of live music and carnival-style concessions, including delicious funnel cakes, caramel apples, cotton candy, and much more. Finish out the visit with a hayride suitable for all ages and take home a few pumpkins, along with the great memories.

Whistle Pig Pumpkin Patch

Relaxing family fun is the name of the game at this pumpkin patch, where kids are encouraged to enjoy the hay fort, string maze, and sand and seed boxes – all for free! Other activities include free hayrides, a corn maze, an enormous pumpkin patch, and plenty of fall decorations for sale. Special group outings are also available. As an added bonus, visitors can watch the mesmerizing wind turbines in the distance while they search for the perfect pumpkin.

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

Voted one of the top ten corn mazes in America, this enormous farm offers a wealth of opportunity to learn, enjoy, and play. Throughout the fall there are numerous opportunities for adults and kids alike, including magic and music shows, reptile shows, butter making demonstrations, and country pig races. There are plenty of opportunities to pick your own pumpkin during the autumn months and after Halloween is over, see how many ways you can destroy a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Madness Festival.

Savidge Farms

Autumn adventure awaits at Savidge Farms, where the fun has been happening since 1999. Today, the farm offers reasonably-priced tickets to a host of cool-weather events, such as hayrides, horse-drawn carriage rides, miniature golf, a corn maze and of course, plenty of food to warm up hungry tummies. There’s free stuff too, such as the milking simulator and the double combine slide. Of course, don’t forget about the pumpkins, in bright orange and every other fall color anyone could want.

Hellerick’s Family Farm

The Fall Harvest Festival at Hellerick’s Family Farm offers over 45 activities for families. The sprawling 18-acre adventure farm area is home to hayrides, a corn maze, corn chute slides, tricycles for all ages, giant echo tubes, and much more, all guaranteed to keep the entire family delighted. Those who are a bit more adventurous can enjoy the new zipline and high-altitude courses. There’s also pumpkin rolling, pumpkin picking and at night, there are even s’mores over an open campfire, where complete strangers often make new friends.

Paul's Pumpkin Patch

This pumpkin patch has fun for all ages, including hayrides to the pumpkin patch (with “not too scary” stories on the way), a barnyard zoo where visitors can interact with friendly animals, and many more kids’ rides and events, as well as the classic pick-your-own pumpkin adventure. Don’t miss the “Famous Frogtown Flinger,” a catapult for pumpkins that will send the orange orbs flying through the air to land in spectacular fashion downfield!

Milky Way Farm

The Fall Harvest at Milky Way Farm offers a unique experience for those who want to pick their own pumpkins amidst the gorgeous scenery of the changing season. Hayrides take visitors to the pumpkin patch or you can meander your way there along an easy walking path. In addition to the pumpkins, try figuring out the corn maze, visit the young animals, and pick up some renowned Chester Springs Creamery farm fresh ice cream.

Irons Mill Farmstead

Located in western Pennsylvania, the 10-acre corn maze is a prime attraction at the Irons Mill Farmstead, but that’s not all there is to enjoy here. Pig races, hayrides to the massive pumpkin patch, zip line courses, a ride down Irons Mill Hill, pumpkin bowling, and fireworks shows are just a few of the many things to explore here. No less than eight food venues – yes, eight! – are ready to provide food and drinks to refuel happy visitors.

Sisson's Pumpkin Patch

This gorgeous pumpkin patch offers a wealth of activities to keep parents and kids busy for a full day of fun, including hay rides, the corn maze, pumpkin sling shots, slides, a shelled corn box, obstacle course, and more. There are even fire pit rentals available for those who want to indulge in s’mores as the sun goes down. And of course, there are pumpkins! On-site food, drinks, and a gift shop round out this autumn adventure.

Patton's Pumpkin Patch

This spectacular pumpkin patch is located in the Millstone Township area of Pennsylvania and is made even more enjoyable with life-sized Nightmare before Christmas characters that visitors can take their picture with! This locale is the perfect place to get some photos of you and your kids, as there are numerous photo spots around the patch, including Daniel's Trolley, which is a magnificent group of Halloween displays that are just right for you to get great pictures of your lil' pumpkin in front of!

Sugartown Strawberries

As the name implies, this gorgeous farm is great for strawberry-picking during the warm spring months; but it’s also fantastic for pumpkin picking as the leaves start to turn! Hayride wagons take families on an adventurous ride to the pumpkin patch, where they can choose their own beauties before heading for the other activities on the farm. Take a walk through the hay bale maze before settling down with light refreshments. Don’t forget to take lots of photographs!
