"Besides Graceland, my favorite tour."

Besides graceland, my favorite tour. It is guided, and the people who do the tour love their jobs. They give an amazing presentation and answer any question at the end. Plus they play some original recordings. They also have amazing ice cream shakes. There is a shuttle that leaves graceland daily that takes makes three stops, one at sun studio (you must get off for 1 hour), then memphis rock n soul museum and then graceland. It is free, just tip your driver.

"Sun Studio was definitely worth the trip!"

It was very cool to go to the exact place where some years before, great musicians & singers recorded their songs. The place is lined with pictures & instruments. We had an excellent tour guide & got to see the offices & actual recording studio where the songs were recorded. We were told of the technique of how the records were made, & there were period instruments & sound equipment aroumd the studio, with the places marked where peple stood to perform, such as jerry lee lewis, elvis presley, and johnny cash. The studio is still open to people who want to record there, too. Sun studio was definitely worth the trip!

The tour guide was upbeat and well educated on the history of sun studio. He was a young guy with a great personality. I am so glad we could take pictures at least on one floor of the building. I love the cafe too and the people we met. The price of the tour was a great bargain. The free shuttle from graceland to sun studio was wonderful (they do accept tips). Thanks for making this a wonder -full mini vacation.

Super interesting tour with the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable musician/guide. Snippets of audio and lots of things to look at and a real sense of being part of the magical times of sun records in the recording studio, culminating in the chance to actually hold the microphone used by elvis. Amazing!

My sister and i visited graceland and memphis in april. It was wonderful, but we didn’t have time to see all we wanted to see, do we went back for elvis week and it was phenomenal. This time we had the opportunity to do the candlelight vigil and take the awesome sun studios tour. Would have loved to visit tupelo, but there aren’t enough tours offered. First trip we rented a car to go but didn’t get to see enough of tupelo. This time, there were mo tupelo tours being offered while we were there again so it would be great to have those tours offered more often. There is still so much to do and see in both memphis and tupelo than we could fit into 2 visits!

Guide was so much fun and knew the history so well. It was so awesome to see where elvis, jonny cash, jerry lee lewis and countless other began their musical careers. We go to stand on the x that elvis stood and recorded many of his first hit songs. Also hold the microphone that they all sung into.

We really enjoyed the tour of sun studios in memphis. Our guide was very informative and quite enthusiastic she had lots of inside stories about the musicians who recorded at sun studios. The only drawback to the tour was the fact that we couldn't get an assigned time ahead of time and had to wait over an hour for the next tour.

It's a small studio and there was a large crowd - pretty close quarters, but we got to see and hear everything. The tour guide did a very good job of explaining the displays and making the tour interesting. Note: parking is very sparse in the area - better to take a shuttle from graceland where parking is plentiful.

My sister and i just traveled to memphis at the beginning of november to see graceland and whatnot,,,,and this was top of our list too. So after graceland we made sure to find our way to sun. The place was packed ...I was amazed . I think she said her name was cora..?? ...From minnesota ..(where we are from)...She is adorable and so animated (fun to listen to) , she truly loved the subject...Music and music history...As we listened to her tell the stories of all the people who had been part of sun studios, made this tiny little building come to life with all it's past. Very cool! I am recommending this tour to everybody! Loved it!

"The studio tour was nice."

The studio tour was nice. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They talked with us while waiting for the tour to start. Communicated with us about the shuttle pick up. Which i was quite nervous about being left downtown. They reassured me and reassured me again that a shuttle would indeed pick us up and transport us back to graceland. The tour guide was a young enthusiastic girl, who seemed well informed and obviously enjoyed what she was doing. I would recommend that tour again.

Well worth an hour and better than graceland. My son and i really enjoyed the history and anecdotes from the guide who was fantastic.
