The famous Good n Plenty Restaurant has been a Lancaster County tradition since 1969 when the restaurant opened and began serving its Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine in a historic, 1871-built farmhouse. Here, you can dine on such tasty treats as baked country ham, roast beef, crispy fried chicken, homemade bread, pork and sauerkraut, and more. All meals are served family-style. Before you head out, be sure to stop by the famous bakery on-site where you can pick up fresh-baked treats to enjoy later in the day, and the on-site gift shop features unique, country-themed arts and crafts that make excellent gifts and souvenirs.
For a completely fresh meal served in a contemporary, upscale ambiance, head over to Carr's restaurant near Central Mark in Lancaster. This impressive restaurant with a distinctive European bistro-style dining room was formerly known as the Market Fare Restaurant, and it features chef-prepared dishes made from locally grown ingredients. The menu includes delights such as smoked ham and scalloped potatoes, chicken pot pie, and medallions of veal oscar. There is also an extensive wine cellar on-site.
John J Jeffries Restaurant
Another excellent dining choice is the John J Jeffries restaurant, which offers a laid-back, yet elegant dining room with a European flair, and it is perfect for a romantic evening on the town. This restaurant is conveniently located inside the Lancaster Arts Hotel in the downtown Lancaster area. The menu is comprised of amazing dishes all prepared by a renowned chef and featuring organic ingredients. Menu options change seasonally, but some of the dishes you may find here include sweet potato pizza pie, pond raised duck, wild caught seafood. There is also a full bar on-site that offers an excellent selection of wines and cocktails.
