Looks like, and feels like, a tourist trap and it does have all the requirements. Large gift shop, crowded restaurant, etc. But, the film and tour of the house and school are both informative and well done. If you want to know more about the amish, this would be the place.

I enjoyed this as my first experience in amish country - learned a lot. The tour of the house and schoolhouse was illuminating. I was surprised at how modern they were and their way of using electricity without saying they're using it. It changed my concept.

A great way to start your trip to lancaster county. Tour is very informative and a good start to visiting the area.

We had a great time and learned a lot about the amish. Our guide was friendly and courteous and answered all our questions.

My grandson was very interested in the way of life of the amish. I was raised in pa on a dairy farm, so i was aware of some of the amish customs. The amish experience and tour of the homestead and schoolhouse was very interested and informative for both of us.

The tour was great and gave me a better understanding of the live of the amish.

The guide for the homestead and schoolhouse was great. She was knowledgeable and kept your attention. (we had 3 grandchildren with us and they really enjoyed it.)

Very informative tour of what seems to be a very sincere and attractive culture, although i might not choose to live that way. The guides know their stuff and know how to communicate. The theater experience was very effective, and made me cry.

The entire tour was very educational. Our tour guide was great! Those straight back bench seats in the theater gotta go! You are sitting on a downward angle with no place for your body to go. I felt very uncomfortable!

We got a real education on the amish and a better understanding of their way of living. We added another quilt of theirs to our collection.

This tour was very enjoyable and the movie was really educational. I knew that amish teens could go out in the world, but not for that long. The only way it would have been better is that if the homestead tour had been of an actual amish home and school. It was really nice, too, that you could catch a buggy tour right down the street and our guide was very knowledgeable. I would definitely go here again!

Since our time was limited, we were very pleased at their willingness to accommodate our schedule. The combo tour was very interesting. People were very friendly.

The amish experience was absolutely wonderful and most informative. The docent. Who just celebrated her 10 year anniversary, was unbelievably knowledgeable and very friendly and courteous. We learned a lot experiencing the amish experience. Kep up the good work. And please tell the docent how great she was.

House tour stayed too much in the classroom and not enough time talking about the actual day to day living of the amish.

The theater showed a typical amish family and their lifestyle. The tour actually took you thru a replica of a schoolhouse, and farm house. It was very informative. They do take you out to a working farm but that cost extra. We weren't told that until the end.I thought that was what we were going to do.

We enjoyed this alot. Would recommend that you take bus tour also to see whole area..The guides are very informative

Loved everything about this amish experience!The film,jacobs choice,gave an inside look into the life of an amish family & the human decisions that they are faced with.It also gave a historical back round ,which was very interesting.The film was shown in a barn setting,which also added to the experience.The film was then followed by a guided tour of the actual homestead.The tour guide was very informative.I suggest this experience to anyone!It really makes you think about the world we live in.There was also a fantastic gift shop on the premises,along with a couple amish-run stores.We also ate at the restaurant on the premises.If you decide to eat there,choose the family style sit down meal over choosing the menu.You'll be able to try all the varieties of food and will meet some really interesting people.We ended up with some new friends.There is also a buggy ride available on the premises.That was also a worthwhile trip.It took you right onto an amish farm.Let's me just put it this way,we were thinking we would be done with this experience in a couple hours.Well,we were there for 6 hours!We don't regret a thing!

Highly recommend this tour for any age group or family! Excellent shops and the food in restaurant ! You must try the home baked goods and the handmade quilts are one-of-a-kind! People are truly pure and pleasant!!
