Mission Concepción is a Tour Stop / Pick Up for the following tours:
Though the Mission Concepción was dedicated in 1755, the building still today looks almost exactly as it did then.
Mission Concepción is the oldest unrestored stone church in America and once featured many colorful and geometric designs along the stone walls. Since then, the patterns have faded or been worn away, but the beauty of the architecture still remains.
Though you can no longer see the beautiful markings on the church's exterior, inside, there are several original frescos that remain visible. The quarters inside are set up to reflect the early days of the church. Visitors can tour the grounds and the interior.
In the past, religious festivals were often held within the church as a means to replace traditional Native American rituals with Christian ideals. Today, services are still held within the building.
