The mackinac island carriage tour was a great way to see the island for the first time. Our carriage drivers were knowledgeable and the horses had personality. Mackinac island was a delightful place that had a cheerful atmosphere as soon as we stepped off the ferry.

Tip: Check out murdick's fudge, the oldest fudge shop on the island.

The carriage tour was excellent. We had two different guides and both did a very good job. We were able to get the row of seats behind the driver on both carriages which gave us a good view of everything. This was also a good way to view part of the island since we were three adults, one child and one toddler. The butterfly house was extremely interesting for my eleven year old grand-daughter. We left with her parents and ended up going back in for another hour. The butterflies would land on you. My fifteen month old grand-daughter liked the butterflies, the rock walls and water ponds.

We loved mackinac island, and the only way to see it is on the mackinac island carriage tours! The tour takes you all over the island seeing all kinds of things from the grand hotel to arch rock. Starting with 2 horse carriage the going to a 3 horse. The guides were informative and funny as well. Highly recommend!!

I loved the tour very much. It was interesting and i liked how both of the guides were funny throughout the tour. Please give these guides a tip. They deserve whatever you can give.

Tip: Make sure you don't misplace or lose your ticket for the second half of the tour, as i couldn't find mine anywhere. I even got out of line to search for it. The guy punching the tickets was very rude to us and embarrassed us in front of everyone. I was having such a good time until then. He talked over us and basically called us a liar. That ruined the fun time i was having. Maybe he was having a bad day and wanted to share. So, don't lose your ticket.

Excellent experience just remember that the island can be substantially colder than the surrounding area mackinac island was 32 degrees f in the middle of may at 9 am.

Informed, interesting guides in a beautiful setting. If at all possible don't sit too close to the horses - a couple of rows back will let you hear the tour guide and avoid the horse flatulence.
