Guide to Shag Dance in Myrtle Beach, SC
Myrtle Beach is easily the heart of the shagging dance Myrtle Beach world and with the National Shag Dance Championships over, there is still a lot of excitement in the air.

Shag?
Shag dancing is a form of swing dancing that is immensely popular in its native state, South Carolina. Purists will recognize this type of dancing as Carolina Shag, which is a direct evolution of the big band jazz, jitterbug, and jump blues eras. Beach music is generally played to it, so fans of Good Vibrations! at the Carolina Opry may want to take a closer look.
