"What a beautiful experience!"

What a beautiful experience! Having never been to the grand hotel, i was extremely pleased from start to finish. Someone met us in the lobby and informed us as to what we were to expect and guided us on our way. A hotel map was presented to us for our convenience in touring the hotel. I am speechless when it comes to the buffet. An enormous variety of gourmet foods with wait staff that was beyond superb. We sat in the rockers on the front porch and then walked the grounds. Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience that left so many wonderful memories.Two thumbs up!!

Beautiful setting and the food and service was top notch. I'd highly recommend this to anyone that wants to see the hotel and grounds. If you go, do yourself a favor and dress on the nicer side of casual. I would definitely do this again on my next trip to the island.

Great visit to this beautiful island and vacationsmadeeasy was so helpful when i called them for information on what to book for this trip. They suggested getting the lunch tickets and carriage tickets in advance.

Tip: Just go. Life is too short.

The hotel is amazing, the brunch just so-so. Staff is very attentive and kind. Wasn't impressed at all about the food. Save your money, pay for the tour and sit on the deck and have a drink.

We loved the buffet!!! Everything was delicious!!! The staff was very attentive. My husband and i were very impressed with the service. We walked around the hotel for a little while but mostly just sit and watched the comings and goings of other people. Very clean, well cared for hotel.

This was a great way to see the grand hotel and not stay there. The self guided tour was relaxed and we spent time looking at the things we were interested in and skipped those that didn't interest us. The meal was wonderful with tables and tables of choices. It was very busy and crowded in the dining room (we were there on a tuesday), so plan for at least an hour for the lunch. Reminder: the grand hotel does have a dress code.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Rocking on the longest porch in the world is now off my bucket list. The service at the buffet was impeccable, but i was a little disappointed in the food for the price. There were few entrees as compared to fruits and veggies. Everything was very good, but few spectacular items. Now i've been there, done that!

Everything went great and it was a treat to get to tour the grand hotel however the luncheon was just very average. We all agreed that the best thing on the menu was the mashed potatoes, so not a good sign.

Was a self paced tour suitable for all ages. I wished there was more of the hotel interior available to the public. The buffet was fantastic - so much variety reminded me of a cruise buffet. Pace yourself so you have room for dessert!

I enjoyed the lunch at the grand hotel immensely, however the only thing i disliked was how tight the seating was, and that there was about 200 girl guides there as well. The line for food got very long and tight. But the food was marvellous

Wonderful location, great buffet! We had such a good time at the grand hotel luncheon and tour. It was so nice to have it all paid for ahead of time, no fuss, no muss. We were escorted right into the dining room and were seated right by a window overlooking the famous porch. The buffet had many selections: a cheese and bread table, hot entrees, a seafood table, salads and vegetables, and a huge selection of desserts. Afterwords we toured the hotel, grounds and don't miss the 4th floor cupola bar! You have an unbelievable view of the lake.

Totally loved sitting on the grand hotel porch, the art gallery and the audubon room. We purchased momentos from the little shops. The appetizers, salads and desserts were the best, you should skip the main courses, great staff. I wish i could have seen a guest room.

We had a great time but for 3 seniors all mid to late 70's, and me with a bad hip, the resort (mission point) was a bit far from everything and paying almost $20 (for 3) for a taxi every time we wanted to go somewhere was a bit much. I think we would have enjoyed it five stars if we would have been closer to downtown. Mission point is a beautiful lodge however and we did enjoy our time there. The grand hotel luncheon was out of this world and they were very accommodating when it came to the entertainment. Allowing us to attend the evening show even though we didn't have formal clothes was truly nice of them. I would very much like to do this vacation again but in a warmer month. -- shirley

The food is to die for and the hotel is like stepping back in time. Maps are provided for your tour. Fyi...Still cameras are allowed but videos are not. If you plan to stay for dinner women will need a dress and men will need a jacket and tie.

Delicious food - but not quite worth the $50 per head. Atmosphere and service were very good. Make sure you get there early (11:59) so you can eat twice, once at noon and once just before they close! And dress nice - even if it's not required you'll feel out of place in a t-shirt and sandals.

What can be said about the grand except that it is grand. The buffet was wonderful way too much food as always to eat. Toured the stables and saw the amazing horses they own the stable workers were very kind. Opened one of the stalls and was able to pet and get a few good pictures of the most beautiful horses.
