Riverwalk Museum Reach in San Antonio was established by the San Antonio Conservation Society in the late 1920s when they realized the river could be used to improve the welfare and economy of the society. Business leaders and government officials came together and asked Architect Robert H.H Hugman to come up with a plan of 21 block section which connected Levington and Nueva. The project was completed in 1941 and it helped control floods, preserve the environment and beautify the town.
