I am visiting the “Big Easy” for a business trip, and I am staying at the Hampton Inn Metairie hotel. I chose this hotel because it is located right off Interstate 10 in the heart of the Metairie business district. This modestly priced hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to businesses and nearby restaurants within 3 miles of the location. In addition, there are other shuttles services available that provide rides to and from the airport as well as to the city of New Orleans. This is perfect for me because while I am here, I plan on taking advantage of the shuttle for that short trip into NOLA’s French Quarter and grab a few beignets and a warm cup of delicious coffee from the world-famous Café Du Monde.
I am glad that this hotel has a fitness center, a business room, and offers free breakfast. It means that my morning routine will go uninterrupted because I can wake up at 5:30 AM, do a quick 30-minute workout, shower, then check my emails in the business center, and finally grab some coffee and perhaps a warm meal. Staying at the Hampton Inn feels like I am home away from home.
Every room at the Hampton Inn Metairie has a microwave and a small refrigerator, which means I can store and enjoy leftover food the next day. Tomorrow, after I am done with my meetings, I will take the shuttle to the nearby shopping center, and then grab dinner at this fantastic restaurant called Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar & Fish House. Perhaps those leftovers will be even better the next day, I guess I will have to wait and see.
Enjoy nightlife at the Causeway Grill, one of the city's lesser-known sites, for onion rings, takeout, and exclusive alcoholic mixtures. Plenty of nearby attractions are available, including Palm Tree Indoor Playground which is perfect for toddlers and younger kiddos offering soft play areas with slides, rockers, and more. Whole Foods is nearby with its natural hygiene mixes, gluten free, vegetarian, and eco friendlier items. Apple Lakeside Shopping Center is an abbreviated drive away, offering goods from brands like Express, Pandora, GameStop, Macys, and Hollister.
