Ville del Carmen's Secret Garden of Sculptures in San Antonio

11354 Vance Jackson Rd. San Antonio, TX 78230
Ville del Carmen's Secret Garden of Sculptures is an eye catching outdoor exhibition in San Antonio, TX.

Six acres of garden space is open for visitors to tour all year long. This sculpture garden is also near the home of the creator of these beautiful designs, Gilbert Barrera.

Visitors not only get to see beautiful sculptures all over the land, but there is also a school on-site where students get to learn to make art themselves. This beautiful conservatory is filled with gorgeous creations all crafted by Gilbert. There are also ancient live oaks on the property that give the space a whimsical feeling.

The home that the sculptor, Gilbert Barrera, currently resides in is adjacent to this artful space because it was purchased originally by his father. Roy Barrera Sr., Former Texas Secretary of State, bought the home and land in 1959. Gilbert's mother Carmen felt that the area looked like 'Dracula's land.' Overgrown shrubbery, plants, and grass were soon cleared away, and beautiful rose bushes were planted by her husband Roy. Gilbert, a self-taught artist, added the sculptures years later, only making what is now Ville del Carmen's Secret Garden of Sculptures even more beautiful.

The Secret Garden of Sculptures in San Antonio, TX will truly transport visitors to a place of magic and wonder.
