If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and want an experience that feels truly special — not just another attraction — a dolphin tour is one of the most memorable things you can do on the water.

What To Expect:
1
75 Minutes That Feel Like a Highlight of Your Trip
In just over an hour, you’ll be out on open water, watching dolphins surface beside the boat while the sun melts into the horizon. It’s long enough to fully soak it in — but short enough to fit perfectly into your evening. Most families say this ends up being one of the standout moments of their entire vacation.
2
Sunset You Simply Can’t See From Land
As the sun drops over Murrells Inlet, the sky explodes with color. The reflection on the water, dolphins surfacing in golden light — it’s one of those moments you don’t forget.
3
A Comfortable, Spacious 82-Foot Boat

You’ll cruise aboard a large, stable vessel featuring:

  • Upper observation deck

  • Air-conditioned indoor cabin

  • Two restrooms

  • Onboard snack bar

It’s smooth, easy, and family-friendly — not a cramped little boat.

4
Wild Dolphins in Their Natural Habitat
You’ll watch Atlantic bottlenose dolphins swimming and surfacing just yards from the boat. No tanks. No tricks. Just real wildlife, right in front of you.
5
A Memory Your Kids Will Talk About for Years

There’s something different about seeing dolphins in the wild at sunset. The excitement, the pointing, the “Did you see that?!” moments — it becomes one of those core vacation memories.
The kind your kids remember long after the trip is over.

6
An Experience Everyone Actually Enjoys
This is one of those rare activities that works for the whole group. Kids are thrilled watching dolphins surface beside the boat, adults love the relaxing sunset views, and couples find it surprisingly romantic. No one’s bored. No one’s checking their phone. It’s shared excitement — the kind that brings everyone together.
7
Limited Sunset Departures = Frequent Sellouts
There are only so many seats and only one sunset per evening. During peak travel months, these cruises regularly sell out in advance. If this is on your must-do list, it’s smart to reserve early.

It was a little hard to find where we needed to go when we first arrived. Parking was free which was a plus. The sovinures were really cool and we bought 2 hats. The excursion out on the water could have been longer. We did see pods of dolphins. XYZAshley Gardner - Kentwood, MI
Sunset

The Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruise gives guests the opportunity to head out into the coastal waters of the Grand Strand in search of one of the ocean’s most amazing animals: wild Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.

Instead of watching the ocean from the beach, you’ll step aboard a comfortable sightseeing vessel and cruise through the beautiful coastal waters where dolphins are commonly seen swimming, feeding, and traveling in pods. It’s a relaxing, scenic experience that combines ocean views, wildlife sightings, fresh sea air, and some of the best photo opportunities in Myrtle Beach.

As the boat moves through the water, keep your eyes on the waves and horizon. Dolphins may appear at any moment, sometimes surfacing just yards away from the boat or traveling together in playful pods. Guests frequently see dolphins swimming alongside the vessel, gliding through the wake, or popping up unexpectedly in the surrounding water.

Because these dolphins are completely wild, every cruise is a little different. Some guests see them swimming in groups, while others may witness dolphins leaping through the water or surfacing repeatedly as they move along the coastline. These spontaneous encounters are what make the cruise feel so authentic and exciting.

Many visitors say this becomes one of the highlights of their Myrtle Beach trip. There’s something special about being out on the water, scanning the waves with your family or friends, and suddenly spotting that first dorsal fin cutting through the ocean. Within seconds everyone on the boat is pointing toward the water, grabbing their cameras, and watching as the dolphins glide past.

Even when dolphins aren't immediately visible, the cruise itself is worth the trip. The Atlantic breeze, open water views, and relaxed pace create a refreshing break from the busy boardwalk, crowded attractions, and packed restaurants. Instead of standing in lines, you're gliding across the water enjoying one of the most beautiful environments Myrtle Beach has to offer.

Why Guests Love This Cruise

  • A chance to see wild Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat
  • Beautiful views of the Myrtle Beach coastline and surrounding Atlantic waters
  • A relaxing activity that gives you a break from crowds and busy attractions
  • Perfect for families, couples, photographers, and wildlife lovers
  • Comfortable sightseeing cruise that guests of nearly all ages can enjoy
  • Incredible photo opportunities when dolphins appear near the boat
  • Multiple departure times available including daytime cruises and sunset sailings
  • A memorable experience that many visitors say becomes the highlight of their trip

Daytime & Sunset Cruise Options

Cruises are offered throughout the day, giving guests the flexibility to choose the time that works best for their vacation schedule.

Daytime cruises are bright, scenic, and perfect for families and wildlife viewing. The sunlight makes it easier to spot dolphins in the water and provides excellent conditions for photos and videos. Many guests enjoy watching the waves while scanning the horizon for dolphins surfacing in the distance.

Sunset cruises add an extra layer of beauty to the experience. As the sun begins to drop toward the horizon, the sky shifts into shades of gold, orange, pink, and purple. Watching dolphins in the warm evening light while cruising along the coastline creates an atmosphere that many guests describe as one of the most relaxing and memorable moments of their entire trip.

Whether you choose a daytime wildlife cruise or a sunset dolphin experience, being out on the Atlantic Ocean offers a perspective of Myrtle Beach that most visitors never see from land.

Limited Seats — Cruises Often Sell Out

Dolphin cruises are one of the most popular water activities in Myrtle Beach, especially during peak travel weeks, spring break, and summer vacation season. Each boat has limited seating and once a departure fills up, additional seats are not available.

If spotting dolphins in the wild is on your Myrtle Beach bucket list, the smartest move is to reserve your cruise early and secure your seats while your preferred date and time are still available.

Once you're out on the water, feeling the ocean breeze and watching dolphins glide through the waves with the Myrtle Beach coastline in the distance, you’ll quickly understand why so many guests say this cruise becomes one of the most memorable experiences of their entire vacation.

Book your Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruise today and get ready for an unforgettable wildlife experience on the Atlantic Ocean.

"The kids loved seeing the dolphins and it was a beautiful sunset that evening as well!"
It was a very nice cruise out and back in! This was a family vacation so we looked at several different options before choosing this cruise since we had 10 in our group and they were amazing to us! My mother was in a wheelchair and they were so nice to come and grab her before boarding everyone else to make sure she got on safely. The kids loved seeing the dolphins and it was a beautiful sunset that evening as well!

"My son saw 3 different dolphins"
This was such a great experience! Truly one of the highlights of our vacation. My son saw 3 different dolphins but even if there hadn’t been a dolphin sighting, i would’ve thought of it as a great experience regardless. So much fun!
