The Center aims to help educate visitors about the park and the local area.
Sugarlands Visitor Center offers numerous exhibits based upon the natural history of the Smoky Mountains as well as a short film about the area. Employees are on hand at the information desk to answer any questions about activities and planning a day in the park. Throughout the year, seasonal programs are offered by the Rangers on staff at the park. The Center features the Great Smoky Mountains Association Bookstore and Shop as well as a permit station for any permit related park activities. Visitors can enjoy amazing nature walks that feature an authentic, historic cabin and a beautifully scenic waterfall.
Sugarlands Visitor Center is the gateway to the amazing Great Smoky Mountain Park, the most visited park in the United States. It is also is one of the largest protected areas in the eastern US, encompassing 522,419 acres. It is known for its diverse plant and animal life, and beautiful scenery.
This location is in the heart of the mountains but still offers guests easy access to other local attractions including Sugarland Cellers Winery, Smoky Mountain Brewery, and St. Mary's Catholic Church.
