
Located in the east side of San Antonio in the state of Texas, this well kept park was bought and dedicated to a park in 1952.
The land where the park is located was originally owned by Dr. Anthony Dignowity. Dr. Dignowity was an immigrant that decided to make San Antonio his home after seeing how the city needed a Dr. Mr. and Mrs. Dignowity built their home in the same land that is now a park and both lived in said house until they both past away, first Dr. Dignowity in 1875 and then Mrs. Dignowity in 1907. The house that belonged to The Dignowity's was demolished in 1926. up until 1952, the future of the land was uncertain between a hospital and a park until the city repurchased it and officially making it a recreational park.
Anyone visiting San Antonio should definitely visit Dignowity park, conveniently located within seven minutes away from main attractions like the River Walk and The Alamo. The place is locally known for events hosted there both private and public.
