Here's kind of a fun fact: Most people, when entering a building or theme park, start walking to the right. So to avoid following the herd, (and reduce the amount of time you spend waiting in line), go to the left when you enter an amusement park.
When I go someplace I've never been before and don't know what the weather's going to be like, I dress in layers. This way, I can always remove or add a sweater or shirt to stay comfortable.
Buy your show tickets ahead of time! We went to Branson two years ago and every show we wanted to see was sold out. This year, we bought our tickets online before we left and got great seats.
Before hiring a private taxi car, always tell the driver where you want to go and ask if they know where it is and get an estimate on how much it will cost. This will help prevent surprises.

If you're driving, do all your car maintenance before you leave: change your oil, check fluids, lights, signals, wiper blades, air in your tires and the tread. Make sure you have a spare tire and jack. And have your insurance card, registration, and driver's license before pulling out of the driveway.
