For a cowboy-style activity in one of the country's most historic cities, head to the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. The museum and saloon combo is located only two blocks from the Alamo and a block from the Riverwalk, offering a convenient location for those who are visiting downtown San Antonio. After being established 131 years ago, the Buckhorn Saloon has become a unique place for locals and tourists alike to visit. Here, guests will be able to feast upon delicious dishes, visit two different museums, and see various wildlife exhibits.

The Buckhorn Museum
Home to wildlife from all over the world, The Buckhorn Museum attracts thousands of visitors each year. Guests will be able to see various animals from fantastic specimens to odd and weird beasts. Included in the exhibit are over 520 different species that have been collected for 100 years. The crown jewel of the museum is the '78 Point Buck' as well as other amazing creatures such as a record-breaking 1,056-pound black marlin and 10,000-year-old Irish Elk.

The Texas Ranger Museum
The Texas Ranger Museum was established in 2006 and seeks to show guests the many artifacts of the Western culture that is so ingrained in San Antonio's history. Here, guests will be able to see a variety of Western-style weaponry from sawed-off shotguns to revolvers. They'll also be treated to many photographs, badges, and other artifacts. The museum also features a completely replicated Ranger Town, which explores San Antonio's past in the 1900s. Other attractions include the Bonnie and Clyde exhibit, a working jail, blacksmith shop, and more.

The Saloon
Get in your drinks and party on at the Saloon. Here, you'll be able to learn about various points in history, such as the recruitment of Rough Riders by Teddy Roosevelt and the rumored point where Pancho Villa planned the Mexican Revolution. As well as soaking in history, guests can fill up on seven different craft beers, margaritas, and more.

Gift Shop
Don't forget to take home a souvenir at the Gift Shop. This shop features an amazing history, having been opened in 1920 in response to the Prohibition of the era. Guests can find everything from Bowie knives to cowboy hats to mugs and more.

For a fun time experiencing the Western culture that is so significant in San Antonio, make sure to visit the stunning Buckhorn Saloon & Museum.
