War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL

800 NE 8th St Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304
Just a short 30 miles north of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Florida is home to the War Memorial Auditorium, a multi-purpose facility located in the lovely Holiday Park area.

The building was initially opened in 1950. Originally owned and operated by the city with the purpose of being home to the local symphony. Later, it became a living memorial to our WWII heroes, both alive and departed. In a twist to the “wall of names,” a listing of those fallen in that war was documented on the seal on the floor of the lobby. Both Korean and Vietnam wars have been remembered, and the Gold Star Mothers organization donated a Vietnam soldier statue, to be placed in the lobby as well. In 2009, all armed forces service members were honored with a rededication of the Korean War-era F-86 Sabre Jet.

The memorial brings funds into the city and the staff is committed to keeping the history of the facility alive as they continue to associate it our esteemed military. While in the area, you can expect to see a variety of events including the Fort Lauderdale Beach International Collector Car Auction, National Physique Committee Southern States Bodybuilding Championships, Fight Time Promotions MMA, Fort Lauderdale PRIDE; which celebrates the LGBT community, and the Orchid Show which is the third largest orchid show in the USA. That must surely be a magnificent sight to behold.

If your organization is looking for a place for your event, this historic, centrally located memorial offers 20,000 square feet of exhibit space, which can manage 125, eight by ten booths, 330 banquet tables or slightly over 2,000 spots for seated events.
