About the Show

Remaining true to its movie origin, the play follows the life of young 9-year-old Ralphie, who is on one mission for the holiday season - to get a shiny new Red Ryder BB gun on Christmas day. However, each time he mentions his request, the adults around him answer with a scathing, 'You'll shoot your eye out, kid!'. Watch as Ralphie navigates the highs and lows of Christmas and get into the Christmas spirit alongside him during this fantastic presentation.
The play also features all of the beloved scenes that make the movie so hilarious. Watch on as Ralphie gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole, tees off with the school bully, and wears the famous bunny suit. The location immediately became an inspiration to many creative minds who visited, thanks to its expansive forests and beautiful rivers. Harold Bell Wright was one of these people, and he was so taken with the place that he wrote a novel called Shepherd of the Hills based on what he observed. Guests can marvel at the magnificent Ozark Mountains and experience what Harold Bell Wright saw and fell in love with in the early 1900s with Inspiration Tower and the other attractions at Shepherd of the Hills.
