Best of San Antonio Sightseeing Tour
The San Antonio River Walk is the heart of downtown San Antonio. This three-mile-long canal built in 1737 by the Spanish has since been turned into a pedestrian walkway. Restaurants, cafes, shops, and beautiful old missions and buildings flank it.
Over 1,200 world-class works of art can be found in the San Antonio Museum of Art alone! The art museum is really impressive in size. From ancient pottery to medieval tapestries to Renaissance paintings, there's something for every art lover here.
The museum is also home to the world's second-largest collection of Pre-Columbian Art, which is made up of ancient works from South America. It was even founded by a South American woman, who was a famous heiress.
The San Fernando Cathedral is an old church that has been around for over 600 years. The Cathedral is beautiful and impressive, even for those who aren't Catholic in their beliefs. When you step inside, there will be a sense of power and age despite all of its modern touches.
Many statues are located throughout the Cathedral grounds and surrounding buildings, so visitors can follow the stories using their knowledge of Catholicism to see what each statue represents.
