History of the Hellman Ehrman Mansion
Built in 1903, the grand summer home of I.W. Hellman was a sight to behold in its prime. The building was situated on nearly 2000 acres of beautiful Lake Tahoe property and was used as a home for both Hellman, his daughter and her daughter's husband. Many guests visited the home when the Hellman-Ehrman family resided there, and they participated in recreation activities such as fishing, swimming, and more. The house was acquired by the California State Park organization in 1965 and has been maintained as a tourist attraction ever since.
For a unique look into the once-grand history of summer homes in Lake Tahoe, be sure to add a vacation getaway to the intricate Hellman-Ehrman estate. Not only can guests embark upon a tour of the home, but they'll also be able to enjoy all of the activities that the Hellmans and the Ehrmans did back in the early 1900s.
