Market 17 in Fort Lauderdale, FL

1850 Southeast 17th Street #109 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Market 17 in Fort Lauderdale, FL is a restaurant that prides itself on being part of a trend in American cuisine that focuses on utilizing local farmers, ranchers and fishermen.

The produce used at Market 17 is organic and fresh, and the menu changes daily depending on what is currently available. Many items on the menu are based on the French school of cooking and the restaurant goes out of its way to seek vendors that use sustainable methods of farming and cruelty free practices.

The owners are both Sommeliers which means that they are passionate about sharing their love and knowledge of wine and spirits. As you might expect, Market 17 carries hundreds of wine labels and has an experienced bar staff that creates cocktails utilizing some local ingredients. The bar opens at 4:30 and the restaurant opens at 5:30 for dinner, although lunches are available for special requests. The menu is modern and exciting and does have vegetarian options.

One of the most interesting parts of Market 17 is the option of dining in the dark. This particular experience is designed to allow the diner to focus on all senses other than sight. There is a special room devoted to this adventure in taste which is, as you would expect, completely dark with waiters in attendance to help serve food and assist patrons in dining in the darkness. This is a meal with all the WOW factors in place, and really shouldn't be missed.

Either way, this excellent restaurant will provide a truly memorable dining and tasting adventure. Reservations are encouraged, as some nights may be quite busy.
