About the Malpass Brothers

The group began with brothers Chris and Taylor Malpass, their father, and Clyde Mattocks, and built its distinctive sound on bluegrass traditions and influence from performers such as Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Their career took off when they met Merle Haggard in 2007, who not only produced their CD but also put them in charge of his opening act for more than seven years. They refined their performing skills and grew familiar with stages across the country during this time.
