"A Sanders Family Christmas" at the Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre (Nov. 21 – Dec. 31)
This moving musical is the sequel to the ever-popular hit “Smoke on the Mountain,” in which the Sanders family returns to Mount Pleasant, NC, home of the Mount Pleasant Pickle Factory. Christmas Eve 1941, the family is invited to the Baptist Church to sing and witness as they get the congregation into the holiday spirit before the boys are shipped off to World War II, including one of the Sanders boys. More than two dozen Christmas carols and hilarious yuletide stories from the Sanders family keep the audience laughing, clapping, and singing along with the bluegrass Christmas favorites!

As one of the most popular holiday shows in Chaffin’s over 45 years, this lighthearted Christmas tale is full of mistaken identities, zany foul-ups, and a pinch of slapstick. Meet newlywed David Tuttle who is moonlighting as a department store Santa to buy his wife an expensive first-Christmas gift, but when she learns that he has been lying about his whereabouts, she assumes the worst! A presumed other woman, hypnotism, the notorious Santa Burglar, his gun-toting fiancée, and a confused policeman all add up to a rollicking tale that is side-splitting holiday fun!

Travel from the more well-to-do neighborhoods to lone estates of the stars for a look at this tour’s vibrant look at the spirit of the season through decorative light displays! The Hermitage Holiday Tours (Dec. 5, 12, & 19)
