The
French Quarter Visitor Center, part of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, offers more than your standard brochures and maps.
At this visitor center, you can learn all about New Orleans history and culture with tours, films, exhibits, and demonstrations. Daily walks of the French Quarter are led by knowledgeable rangers who will tell you all the history and stories of this famous district. Along with these daily tours, the visitor center hosts a variety of actors, musicians, storytellers, dancers, and cooks for performances and demonstrations of classic New Orleans culture. The Visitor Center also has an onsite bookstore, where you can buy cookbooks, books about music and history, children's books, and more.

- Closed on Christmas Day and Mardi Gras Day
