• About the Museum
  

  This museum is dedicated to educating people about the 9/11 attacks. Honoring the victims is its main goal, and it prides itself on providing the most comprehensive memorial to the event. It honors all of the 2,996 people who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Having opened on April 15, 2011, the museum has seen hundreds of thousands of visitors to its somber memorial.

  The Museum offers various exhibitions throughout the year. While there are core exhibitions that are always at the museum, there are also exhibits that are available at varying times throughout the year. 
  

  
  

• Historical Exhibition

  
  This core exhibition is available all the time. This exhibition is dedicated to providing a detailed and accurate historical timeline of the events as well as displaying artifacts, audio, and video recordings that you cannot experience anywhere else. The exhibit features three different parts: the Events of the Day, Before 9/11, and After 9/11. 
   

• Memorial Exhibition: In Memoriam

  
  This moving aspect of the museum honors all of the 2,977 people who were killed on 9/11. It also honors the victims who were killed at the World Trade Center in 1993. This touching gallery features all of their photos for a sobering experience. 
   

• About the Galleries
  

  In addition to the memorials, visitors will be able to peruse six main galleries. These galleries each are dedicated to various aspects of the 9/11 tragedy. They also include various artifacts from Ground Zero before, during, and after the attacks. Whether the artifacts were part of the World Trade Center or were personal effects from the victims, the artifacts remain a telltale depiction of life during, before, and after 9/11. The Museum is also home to the First Responders Memorial Plaza which highlights the first responders who died in the attacks. It has all of their names inscribed.
