The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden is located at 1 Collins C.

 

Diboll Circle in New Orleans. The garden covers five acres of land and over 60 different sculptures make their home there. Artists from all over the world have contributed to the statues located within the gardens.

The gardens is an admission free activity and is open every day except legal holidays. Besides the sculptures, the gardens consist of three walking bridges, pathways, a 687 square foot garden pool, and seating area with terraces for viewing both the garden and the lagoon. There are a variety of ornamental plants such as the white and purple lily of the valley. The 200-year-old live oak trees are not to be missed. The ground is covered in holy fern and Asian jasmine. Other features include the variety of vines growing on the outside fences and water plants that can be found at the edge of the lagoon.

The gardens are a peaceful place to see works from artisans all over the world. It is adjacent to the New Orleans Museum of Art. City Park, where the gardens call home, has a variety of activities for the whole family, including restaurants and the city dock where boats can be rented. The gardens is in close proximity to many different walking tours and other attractions the French Quarter has to offer.
