St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, LA
The St. Louis Cathedral is one of New Orleans most notable landmarks and it's easy to see why. It has three different steeple towers, giving it a castle-like appearance. Even before this particular church was constructed, people had been worshipping on this site for years. Underneath the church, there are people buried that worshipped here before this church was built, and after. The St. Louis Cathedral was established as a parish in 1720, and people have been attending this magnificent structure ever since. The original St. Louis Cathedral burned in 1788, and a new church wasn't built in its place until 1794. There is also now a gift shop on-site for visitors , that offers among many other things, a paper-back book detailing the cathedral's history.
