Wisconsin Ducks Sightseeing Cruise
With the Wisconsin Ducks Sightseeing Cruise, you get more than just a scenic tour.
This one-hour adventure will take you in and around the scenic Wisconsin River for a fun experience both on land and in water. You can enjoy the most scenic parts of the Wisconsin Dells region on this fantastic sightseeing cruise aboard a Duck, an amazing example of American ingenuity and engineering from World War II. Originally developed to ferry troops and supplies from ship to shore, the amphibious Duck is also ideal for giving visitors the ideal way to experience the beautiful Dells.
On this trip, the Duck will maneuver easily through steep trails, ravines, and rocky terrain, as well as provide you with a smooth ride on the water for the perfect trip in the Wisconsin Dells area. Starting out at the Duck Dock, your group will head out past the Old Chicago Statues, past the gargoyles which used to grace the Chicago Board of Trade building, and hop up and down hills for an exhilarating ride. Head down Fern Dell for a trip through a canyon with 27 different varieties of ferns before diving into the Wisconsin River at Echo Point, where the sounds of your venture will echo along the high sandstone cliffs. Take in views of Pulpit Rock, the Baby Grand Piano, and Hawk's Bill before crossing a sandbar and entering Dell Creek.
Next, your Duck will take you past the 20-foot-high Newman's dam and into beautiful Lake Delton, before traveling back onto land. Ride past Dawn Manor, a beautiful Civil War era home, and the spectacular wilderness trails that you can only see via the Wisconsin Ducks tour. This area was once the site of the lost city of Newport, where the streets are now covered in pine, oak, and wildflowers. Then, hold onto your seats for a trip down winding and twisting Roller Coaster Hill, and take in a panoramic view of the river before dropping down the steep slope of Suicide Hill. Then you will get a glimpse of the picturesque, lily pad-covered Lake of the Dells. Take a few last looks at the gorgeous wildlife as you pass through Red Bird and Black Hawk Gorges before heading back to the Duck Dock for the conclusion to your exciting excursion!
To be fully prepared for your trip, Wisconsin Ducks recommends that you dress appropriately. As the Duck is open to the environment with only a canopy overhead, make sure that you dress for the weather outside, whether hot or cold, rainy or sunny. Hats, sunglasses, and visors, as well as sunscreen, are also recommended to protect your eyes and skin from the sun. Using your camera or binoculars is encouraged, and of course, make sure to use the bathroom or grab a snack before the Duck makes way.
The fun Wisconsin Ducks Sightseeing Cruise offers visitors an exciting look at the scenic Wisconsin River and surrounding area, along with tall tales from Native American history and local lore, giving you a fun mix of adventure, history, and wilderness. There's no better way to experience the Wisconsin Dells than on a Duck!
