About the Battleship Wisconsin
From World War I to World War II battleships dominated the seas. and the ships in the U.S. Navy, have served with distinction. As you stand on the top deck you will appreciate the history of the 887-foot ship that was once home to several thousand soldiers. Dominating the main deck of the ship are 16-inch-long guns with a history of firing shells that each weighed 2,700 pounds! that dominate the main deck. These gun turrets were capable of rotating around giving all nine guns the ability to fire a full broadside to ranges up to 23 nautical miles.
