Summertime is moderately cool, and evenings may require a light jacket or sweater for going to dinner, an entertainment venue or strolling along the town streets. Summer highs range from 61 to 72 degrees. July and August are particularly clear and sunny months of the year, with the advantage of low rainfall levels. Summertime visitors will want to pack some shorts and short-sleeved shirts for the warmest days, but long pants or Capri pants are also comfortable. As the snow melts and sunny days return to Victoria, the rains also begin to taper by April. During March, April, and May, the daily average temperature ranges between 50 and 61 degrees, making spring afternoons the perfect time for walking along the waterfront or for walking among the many famous sites in downtown Victoria. Consider a visit to Beacon Hill Park, where there is a petting zoo, amphitheater, wading pool, and lawns, lakes and gardens.
