Holiday Lights on the Hill at Chandler Park in Tulsa, OK is a long standing tradition. Chandler Park is located at 6500 West 21st Street, Tulsa, OK. The park is filled with four miles of the sights and sounds of Christmas . Admission to the park is free, however donations will be gladly accepted.
Over a million lights make up the light displays that are seen by visitors driving through the park. One of the favorite displays is the Christmas tree constructed out of old tires. The display started when City Councilor Jeannie Cue had too many lights in her neighborhood and she wanted to put them somewhere for the whole community to enjoy without having to leave their car. It was suggested to her to use Chandler Park and the rest is history. The lights are sponsored by many of the local businesses and organizations. The display started out cover only a quarter of a mile to now stretches four miles, and is still growing. The park also offers horse-drawn carriage rides and visits with Santa.
Other events or activities to enjoy while in Tulsa include Winterfest at the only outdoor skating rink in Tulsa. Enjoy carriage rides, music, and a visit from Santa. There is a Christkindlmarkt with free admission. Enjoy a jazz version of the Nutcracker and the Tulsa Festival Ringers. Tulsa is a very festive place to spend Christmas.
