CN Tower - Canada's Wonder of The World
Defining the Toronto skyline, CN Tower is Canada's most recognizable and celebrated icon.
This free-standing structure scrapes the sky at a height of 1815 feet and five inches. However, the Tower is more than just landmark for sightseeing. It offers both a view and a fun time for all members of the family.
The elevator ride is an attraction in and of itself, taking only 58 seconds to reach the top! These six high-speed glass-fronted elevators give you a breath-taking view as you race upwards at 15 mph! In April 2008, the CN Tower introduced these elevators as North America's first and the world's highest glass-floor paneled elevators. Three glass-fronted elevators now offera thrilling new perspective on the view 1,136 feet straight down through two glass panels in a portion of each elevator floor!
Once you reach the top, you'll be able to have an unobstructed view of Toronto, Lake Ontario, and surrounding region with visibility of 100 miles on a clear day (when Niagara Falls or Rochester, New York can be seen). A little closer to earth are the Lookout Level and the Sky Terrace, both with spectacular view. Also enjoy the Glass Floor (not recommended for the faint at heart) which offers a view with a twist 1,122 feet straight down! This floor has been specifically designed for you to have fun on it, so walk or crawl across it, sit on it or even jump on it! The floor is 256 square feet of solid glass that is five times stronger than the required weight bearing standard for commercial floors, so no worries, it won't break! It can actually withstand the weight of 14 large hippos!
But CN Tower is not just view, view, view. There is a motion theater ride, 3D movie, sprawling shopping center, arcade, and some great places to eat. A visit to the CN Tower can be described in only one word — exhilarating!
