Labor Day weekend transforms Telluride, Co. into an intimate, cinematic, and special place. The Telluride Film Festival blows into town. It attracts stars, directors, and other film enthusiasts and the small town grows three times the size.
For over 30 years, film goers have come to debut films that have not made it into theaters yet. Most of the films writers, stars, and directors come with the film to get one on one reviews from all. It's a once in a lifetime event every year.
The films are shown at various places in the town including the Sheridan Opera House, the Masonic Lodge, and the Town Park which converts to an open air cinema. You can come to all or take your pick. It's hard with the majestic mountains all around you to only look at films, but feel assured there is plenty of other things to occupy yourself with. Come for a wonderful and restful weekend.
