Snowbird's Oktoberfest is in Sandy, UT. It is held August 12-October 15 on Saturdays and Sundays. It is also open on Labor Day Monday. It happens from 12pm-6:30PM. The location of this event is at the Snowbird Center.
This festival is one of the largest in Utah and attracts more than 60,000 people. Parking is $10 per car so that means you can save money if you carpool. If you wanted to stay the night, they have packages starting at $105 per person. Usually, visitors eat 6,000 pounds of weisswurst and bratwurst, 4,500 pounds of chicken, and 2,000 Granny Smith apples, which are used in the delectable apple strudel.
There are so many things to do at Oktoberfest, besides the obvious drinking. For example, there are many restaurants where you can have authentic German and Bavarian cuisine. Some of the offered cuisine is: spätzle, sauerkraut, and, of course, bratwurst and weisswurst. In addition to dining, there are other things you can do such as: the climbing wall and Peruvian Chairlift and Tunnel. If you take your kids, they can have fun getting their faces painted or learning at the activity center. You can also get caricatures drawn or look at the vendors selling arts and crafts. There are also many bands and other shows that showcase German and Bavarian culture, such as yodelers and hearing the history of the festival.
With so many things to do, the possibilities are endless. This is a festival that is rich and culture and is fun for the whole family!
