The Seattle Children's Museum offers a variety of ways for families to spend time together while educating children as well.
There are several exhibits that are hands-on for children from 1 year to 10 years of age. Daily educational programs are offered along with special activities during the year with the free admission to the museum.
The mission of the museum is to encourage children to learn while playing. COG City is a fun area where children can learn about how machines operate. They can turn cogs that are designed in all sizes and colors to see how they interact together and make machines work in daily functions. A fun adventure for children who like animals is Discovery Bay. This is an area where children can touch small animals that live in the water and see how they interact with each other. Global Village is a fun place where children can see what it's like to live and work in a small town. Children who like to draw, paint and do other crafts will have fun in Imagination Studio where they can use their imagination to make a variety of crafts. This is one of the areas where lessons are given by the workers about how colors blend together and the basics of being creative.
While in the Seattle area, take your children to expand their minds at the Seattle Children's Museum. From animals to learning about sound, you'll find that there are several exhibits that children can enjoy. Visit the gift shop before leaving to get a small trinket of your trip.
