CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington is where to go for both football and soccer fans. The 69,000 seat facility is home to the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Sounders of the MLS. It is conveniently located off the I-90 Expressway.
The stadium in constructed in a U-shape with the north end open, providing fans with a view of downtown Seattle. It is a partially enclosed stadium, as the roof covers 70 percent of the seats, but does not extend over the playing field, leaving it exposed to the elements. Some of CenturyLink Field's features had not been seen in other NFL stadiums at the time of its opening. The 13-story tower supports a vertical scoreboard, and there are field level luxury suites behind the north end zone. Before the game, fans can spend time in Touchdown City and watch other games on large screen TVs or test their football skills. Various concession stands are located throughout CenturyLink Field with traditional fare like hot dogs and sausages, and more unique offerings like Chicken and Waffles and Thai seafood.
CenturyLink Field opened in 2002. Along with the Seahawks and the Sounders, it was also home to the Washington Huskies football team from 2011-2012 while their stadium underwent renovations. CenturyLink also set a Guinness world record as the loudest stadium.
Come to CenturyLink Field for a day of football or soccer. Safeco Field is two blocks away, giving sports fans a chance to catch a Mariners baseball game as well. Before the game, check out the Seattle Aquarium just a mile away. Many unique restaurants are within a mile of the stadium.
