Jepson Center


Located at 207 W York St, Jepson Center is home to countless pieces of contemporary art and exhibitions that are sure to delight and impress all ages. The building opened in 2006. It is comprised of over 7,500 square feet of gallery space and hosts many traveling exhibitions. It is also home to a permanent collection of art pieces and features a 220 seat auditorium, a community gallery, studios, and ArtZeum, which is an interactive 3,500 square foot gallery.

Here, guests can also check out the Kirk Varnedoe Collection which includes pieces by Chuck Close, Richard Avedon, Robert Rauschenberg, Jeff Koons, and Jasper Johns. Other pieces include works of William Christenberry, Sam Gilliam, James Brooks, and Helen Levitt. You'll also be able to check out the famous Bird Girl statue while making your way through the fantastic pieces of art.

Telfair Academy


The Telfair Academy center is situated at 121 Barnard St. It is a feat of beautiful architecture, having been modeled after the neoclassical Regency style. It is also home to plenty of magnificent paintings, including works from Frederick Frieseke, Robert Henry, George Luks, and more. It was originally built in 1891 for Alexander Telfair and was given to the George Historical Society in 1875. The mansion itself is comprised of two 19th century rooms and artistic pieces ranging from paper sketches, sculptures, and paintings.

Owens - Thomas House


Another American Regency-styled mansion, the Owens-Thomas house is located at 124 Abercorn St. Having been built from 1816-1819, it is filled with cultural and architectural significance. It sits proudly, its beautifully adorned porch beckoning guests inside. Once there, visitors will be treated to a look into the 1700 - 1800s. It features plenty of American and European pieces from these eras, including furniture and art. Also on the grounds include the original carriage house and parterre garden.
