Christmas in Santa Fe, NM

You might think that a place that rarely sees snow might not be the best place for Christmas.

However, nothing could be further from the truth. In Santa Fe, New Mexico, Christmas is not only alive and well, the mix of old and new cultures makes their

Christmas celebration unlike anywhere else in the country.

At Christmas time, Santa Fe lights up with luminaries called farolitos that light up the sidewalks and every house giving it an almost ethereal feel.

One thing you must see at Santa Fe during Christmas is Christmas at the Palace. It's great time for everyone with carolers, story telling, cookies and cider and even Santa, complete with elves. It's a wonderful blend of the three cultures of Santa Fe.

Other things to at a Santa Fe Christmas include the Christmas eve Canyon Road walk, where you can enjoy shopping, carolers, decorations and cider. The train also has many holiday train rides where they you can dine on little hors d'oeuvres and enjoy the stunning decorations.

Won't it be great this Christmas to be in place that appreciates Christmas without overly commercializing it? if so, you should spend Christmas in Santa Fe.
