Challenge your skill on an advanced tour, and see the majesty of San Francisco as you glide through sights and past landmarks like Russian Hill, North Beach, bay vista views, and an unparalleled view of Alcatraz, along with numerous other views and landmarks you will see along the way! This tour is designed for guests who have prior experience on a Segway, so beginners are not permitted on this advanced tour that tackles bigger hills and offers less historical accounts. This tour is a fully narrated adventure, and you will be fitted with a helmet, radio receiver and ear bud so you don't miss a moment of commentary along the way!
You will start your tour with a brief, 15-20 minute refresher course on your Segway before setting out and cruising through Aquatic Park to the end of the Municipal Pier, and see landmarks and buildings like the Golden Gate Bridge, the Maritime National Historical Park, and zoom past breathtaking bay vistas. Climb the slopes of Russian Hill and learn the historical origin of the towns name, dating back to the Gold Rush when settlers found a small Russian cemetery at the top of the hill. From here, you will be see sweeping views of Coit Tower, the Bay Bridge, the San Francisco bay, and Alcatraz. Get a peek at some of San Francisco's 350 hidden stairways and pedestrian-only lanes, explore Little Italy in North Beach, and glide down the "crookedest street" in the world at Lombard Street.
Once you have explore the reaches of Little Italy, you will return to Pier 39, where you can see the Pier's famous sea lions and glide past the Historic Wharf Fishing Fleet while taking in a lungful of ocean air from the Pier. This is an amazing opportunity for experienced Segway riders to see the best of San Francisco and some of the views the city has to offer, so be sure to remember your camera so you can snap pictures during one of your stops!
