The Fairmount

Dating back to 1906, Fairmount holds history and represents the prosperity of the area throughout time. The  37 suites have been refurbished with antique furnishings and new European fabrics and it is made to feel like an elegant European style home. Not only is it elegant and historic, but it also has modern touches like fitness and business centers. In 1985, it was moved from five blocks away to its current location and is now in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest structure ever moved on wheels. 

 

The Westin Riverwalk 

Located right off of the River Walk, you are able to step outside and be in the middle of the action. Choose a room with city views, river views, or the stunning view of the rooftop terrace. Each room has a signature Westin Heavenly Bed, 42-inch high definition flat-screen TV, high-speed internet, telephones, and bathrooms adorned with marble and luxurious amenities. The other amenities include a hairdryer, a mini fridge, and a desk and chair. On the roof, there is a heated rooftop pool that you can enjoy any time of the year. The Westin is a great choice!

The Emily Morgan 

Built in 1924, this historic lodge features a 24-hour fitness center, a 24-hour business center, luxury suites, concierge service, valet parking, and an outdoor pool that is open until 11 pm. Each room features free WiFi, an HDTV with cable, premier bathrobes, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, a makeup mirror, and a phone with free local calls. Oro Restaurant is also located within the accommodation for a delicious meal. 

 

Considered to be the turning point of Texas's fight against Mexico for their independence, the Battle of the Alamo is now major historic knowledge across the world. It is widely agreed that Mexico lost this battle because Mexican general, Santa Anna, was not able to gather his troops quickly enough after the calls of the enemies, the Texans, were heard. It is thought that this was because of Emily - a twenty-one-year-old indentured servant - who was distracting the Mexican general during this time. Emily had been captured by Mexican forces along with other household members and before that, she was indentured to Colonel James Morgan. Many believe Emily is to thank for the Texas victory that day. 

 

Sheraton Gunter 

The Sheraton Gunter is conveniently located in the heart of the city, placing it within a mile of the famous Alamo.
