The Peterson Family Farm has events for all seasons and located near Salt Lake City, Utah at 11887 South and 4000 West in Riverton. In fall the farm has a Fall Harvest Festival with something for everyone.
The festival at the Peterson Family Farm is filled with activities and the event is fun for children and adults. The activities during this event include a petting zoo for the children, picking your own pumpkin, decorating pumpkins and pumpkin bowling. They also have a corn maze, wagon rides, a corn pit, and games. Rounding out the festival they have live music and food trucks. Adding to the fun at the farm they offer face painting. The farm market has apple cider, pumpkins, harvest treats and fall produce that can be purchased to take home. This is an annual event that takes place in October.
The history of the Petersen Family Farm spans five generations beginning with the immigration from Denmark of James Petersen and settling at the location in 1871. At one time the farm was put up for sale during the depression, but it was not sold. During the early years, the farm's produce supplied the Bingham mine workers, businesses, and animals.
The Petersen Family Farm is a place to find fresh produce throughout the growing season, but also one filled with events and activities.
