If you’re looking for something unique to do in California, look no further than World’s Biggest Dinosaurs. Just thirteen miles outside of Palm Springs, a surprising sight rises out of the desert. “Mr. Rex” and “Ms. Dinny” have greeted visitors to World’s Biggest Dinosaurs for over 30 years.
World’s Biggest Dinosaurs is open every day, except Thanksgiving and Christmas, from 10am-5pm. This popular tourist destination offers self-guided tours, a museum, gift shop, and a “Dino Dig” for the kids. Children and adults can take pictures with Ms. Dinny, the Apatosaurus and Mr. Rex, the T-Rex. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even climb to the top of these amazing concrete creatures for a spectacular view of the area. The T-Rex museum is located inside Mr. Rex and offers an educational and fun experience for the whole family. Ms. Dinny houses the gift shop where you can find unique gifts for everyone on your list. Children can take part in the Dino Dig, where they will learn what it’s like to be a paleontologist, and take home a special stone for their efforts.
Standing nearly four stories tall, Ms. Dinny and Mr. Rex were built over 30 years ago. Ms. Dinny took eleven years to build and Mr. Rex took seven. Over 12,000,000 people see these dinosaurs every year. As a part of popular culture, the dinosaurs are frequently featured in the news, commercials, and even music videos.
Remember to check out World’s Biggest Dinosaurs the next time you’re in California and become part of dinosaur history by saying hi to Ms. Dinny and Mr. Rex.
