Joshua Tree National Park Jeep Tour
The next time the family visits Palm Springs book the Joshua Tree National Park Jeep Tour. The duration of the tour is approximately 4 hours and lets you connect with nature in a 4x4. The tours can be booked early in the morning or in the afternoon. Once booked the tour includes fees to enter the National Park, bottled water, transportation to and from the hotel, snacks and a professional guide to give fun facts and information. Since the tour is in a 4x4 the minimum age to ride would be 5 years old.
The tour starts at Morton’s Steakhouse and depending on whether the tour booked is morning or afternoon, guests will arrive there 30 minutes early. Then the tour guide will go over the itinerary and all the safety features involving the jeep. Guests need to make sure to bring a jacket because sometimes it can be a little chilly. There are also no open-toed shoes or high heels allowed to be worn on the tour. The park itself has been a national monument since 1936 by President Roosevelt and is famous for the Joshua (Yucca Brevifolia) Trees. Make sure to get a picture of the parks oldest rock, Pinto Gneiss. There will also be opportunities to see some of the wildlife that lives in the park. Some of the animals are Snakes, black-tailed jackrabbits, kangaroo rats, and coyotes.
The Joshua National Park is a great place to catch the scenic beauty of Palm Springs. A 4x4 will take you through the desert to see animal life, desert vistas, plant life and unique rock formations. Your guide will let you know the full history of the park while you snack and take beautiful pictures.

Take rugged back-country trails through the Little San Bernadino Mountains to take you from the Colorado Desert to over 4000 feet elevation in the Mojave Desert. You will be treated to magnificent unspoiled desert vistas, spectacular rock formations, unique plant and animal life, and outstanding geology.
Joshua Tree National Park can be 15 to 20 degrees cooler so be sure to bring a jacket or windbreaker with you. Only sneakers or other active style shoes should be worn, no flip flops or high heels.
