Christmas is the most enjoyable holiday each year all over the world and in Clinton, Oklahoma, it is the one holiday of the year you always mark out your calendar for at the start of year. The parade usually begins at dusk, at around 7 p.m so as to give participants the opportunity to enjoy the aura the Christmas lights bring with it.
The Oklahoma Festival of lights based of off Clinton is that time of the year when downtown Clinton come to life. The event attracts local business, civic clubs as well as school-based clubs to participate. It is a must-see event for all the children because Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause will be there to have fun and take pictures with them.
The festival of light has been around for some time now. More than 25 years to be exact and it only gets better each year. Throughout the whole parade, business hours are extended to allow visitors buy their souvenirs or even get a quick lesson on the rich Clinton history from the local Oklahoma Route 66 Museum.
