Located on the scenic Niagara Gorge, just a few short minutes from Niagara Falls, Bird Kingdom is the world's largest indoor, free-flying aviary! Journey through the jungle to uncover ancient ruins, a towering waterfall, remains of a 1930's bi-plane, and hundreds of vibrantly colored bird species. Allow an hour or more to journey through 7 specialty areas that bring you face to face with hundreds of birds from around the world in a multi-level rainforest setting. Many species of birds will be free-flying, meaning each glance upward reveals a fascinating new experience to behold. You can even hand-feed treats to the Australian Rainbow Lorikeets! There are interactive programs and exhibits to ensure that you learn everything you can about these beautiful and whimsical creatures.
Bird Kingdom Exhibits:
Main Aviary- The world's largest indoor aviary with free-flying birds. The 50,000 sq ft. multi-level aviary includes beautiful rainforest-esque vegetation as you wander down the pathways to view over 400 beautiful birds of 80 different species in this area. This area also includes a waterfall to discover a peaceful experience.
Small Bird Aviary- The small aviary features over 40 different bird species with some that are endangered and/or rare species. The small aviary features a tropical environment for the birds to fly around, build nests, take baths, and sing to you as you search for the majestic creatures.
Animal Encounters- This area allows you to touch and hold many different birds and reptiles from all around the world. You are able to interact with animals such as snakes, tortoises, parrots, chameleons, and bearded dragons.
Lorikeet Feeding- Enjoy feeding the Lorikeets as they fly around and land on you to feed on the nectar (included in admission). This will be a fun experience for the kids in your group during your visit.
Night Jungle- This area is dark during the day and light during the night to reverse their clock making it available for you to see these creatures at their liveliest. See animals such as owls, bats, and other night creatures like crickets in this fun and unique exhibit.
Ancient Javanese House- Located in the Main Aviary, the Javanese House is a rare home from the 1800s that is the only one of its kind in North America. The home is completely constructed without a single nail. The home contains many hidden writings and blessings among the carvings located throughout the building.
Old Museum- The building was used as a Niagara Falls Museum before becoming the Bird Kingdom as it is known today. In 2000, the building was renovated to add on the 50,000-sqft aviary.
