The exhibition center primarily caters to tourists of Times Squares and changes exhibits every few months in order to keep its exhibits fresh and interesting to tourists on return visits. Just a visit alone is worth it for its unique location in the basement of the Times Square Building which was the previous home of the New York Times. Its exhibits tend to be large and expensive as it tends to take on exhibits that are considered too extravagant for nonprofit museums.

In the past it has housed exhibits such as Titanic: The Artificial Exhibition, King Tut, CSI: The Experience, and Shipwreck! Pirates and Treasure. It first opened in June of 2009 and due to its success will likely remain a staple of the Times Square tourism base for quite some time.

There are usually two to three exhibits open at the Discovery Times Square in New York City, NY and they usually consist of pop culture and science themes. The mixture of themes make it a great stop for tourists that want to come in out of the rain, cold, or hot sun for a few minutes and indulge in another world.
