The Brooklyn Museum is a 560,000-square-foot Beaux-Arts building, one of the largest and oldest art museums in the U.S.
Its permanent collections cover many different time periods, from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to more modern artworks. The collections come from a wide range of cultures.
The museum is just a 30-minute subway ride from midtown Manhattan. It is located in a complex that includes Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Prospect Park Zoo.
