The UNO Lakefront Arena is an 8,900 seat venue located on the east campus of the University of

vacationsmadeeasy.com/NewOrleansLA/'>New Orleans. The arena opened in 1983. Since that time, it has hosted countless sporting events, as well as concerts and other shows.

 

The UNO Lakefront Arena serves as the home for both the New Orleans Men's and Women's Basketball teams. It also hosted the Women's Final Four in 1991, as well as the Sun Belt Conference tournaments for men's and women's basketball. But basketball isn't the only sporting event at the arena. Fans can also watch roller derby and professional wrestling. Regular concerts are put on at the UNO Lakefront Arena, featuring some of the biggest names in music. Past performers include Zac Brown Band, Lady Gaga, Rush, and Aerosmith. Comedians, ice shows, and other family entertainment are also booked at the arena. Every May, the venue is the site of the University of New Orleans commencement.

The arena did suffer severe damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. As a result, the building was closed for three years so repairs could be made. It re-opened in 2008 with High School Musical: The Ice Tour.

With numerous events, unobstructed seating, and excellent acoustics, the UNO Lakefront Arena has gained a reputation as a premier venue in the South. It's 90 acres also makes it perfect for outdoor events and festivals. It also has Spotlights, a 2,600 square foot lounge good for pre-show gatherings.
