The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum is a museum on the banks of the Tchefuncte River.

It is in Madisonville. The LPB Maritime Museum strives to give visitors the best of the best when it comes to seeing the classic steamboats that used to sail the waters in Louisiana. There were many Native Americans and European settlers alike who depended on the inner waters of Louisiana to get them out into the ocean.

 

The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum is now open. They are closed on Mondays. Tuesday through Saturday they are open from 10 AM until 4 PM. On Sundays, they are open from Noon until 4 PM. Tickets are only $6 per person. If you have a child 5 years or younger, or are active military personnel with proper ID, your cost is free.
